We use 100% natural soy wax.  We believe soy wax provides you with a cleaner, 
healthier, and more high quality candle.  Soy wax has several benefits that 
we find great qualities! That's why all our candles are made with 100% soy 
wax from soy beans grown right here in the United States.

Why we'd like to keep our candles 100% natural we do add fragrance oils and 
dye to our candles.  We've found that fragrance oils put off a better scent 
than essential oils, and dyes add an aesthetic appeal to candles.  Aside 
from those two additives we add nothing else to our candles!  Keeping them 
as close to nature made as possible.

We chose soy candles because of the great benefits and the fantastic burn 
qualities of the wax.  We've found soy a pleasure to work with, and are 
proud to provide our customers with long-lasting, great smelling, natural 
soy wax products. Soy wax also completely burns away leaving little to no 
wax and allowing you to reuse your containers for other things.  Soy wax 
burns at a lower temperature than paraffin and this increases the burn 
time of the candle longer, so that you can enjoy your candle even more!

There are several benefits to using soy wax in candles vs. paraffin.  Here 
are some of the benefits that we like:

BURN CLEANER -- Soy wax is made from natural soy beans and is therefore 
non-toxic. This allows it to burn cleaner thanparaffin wax  since it does 
not contain the same chemical components that paraffin does. Soy wax also 
keeps your air cleaner allowing you to breathe healthier, carcinogen free 
air.

BURN LONGER -- Soy candles burn slower and cooler than paraffin wax, 
creating a long lasting candles.

RENEWABLE RESOURCE -- Soybeans are grown right here in the US! This makes 
soybeans a a renewable product, unlike paraffin, which consists of petroleum. 

BIODEGRADABLE -- Soybeans are vegetables, this makes soy wax naturally 
biodegradable and good for the environment. Soy wax is also easier to remove 
from materials and surfaces than paraffin wax.

HELPS THE ECONOMY -- Purchasing soybean products helps to simulate economic 
growth in the US. It allows soy farmers to keep their jobs, help their 
communities, and provide a market for US growth.

Growing up in Alaska we got to see Aurora Borealis (also known as - the 
Northern Lights) every winter.  All the color combinations and possibilities 
with candles reminded us of all the different colors in the wintery night 
sky, and so we combined the two names together to make Aurora Lights Candles!

It is important to take proper care of your soy candles.  Did you know soy 
candles have a memory?  When burning your candle for the first time, let it 
burn for at least 2-3 hours before blowing it out.  This will allow the 
surface of the candle to melt entirely providing you with a longer last 
candle.  Keeping your wicks trimmed to 1/4 of an inch will help to prevent 
smoking and mushrooming of the wick, this will allow your candle to burn 
correctly.
